Character
The Story of Moroccan Rose
Morning harvest in Morocco's Valley of Roses captures Rosa damascena at peak fragrance, yielding a spicy, honeyed rose with green and fruity facets unlike any other.
Heritage
Arabs and Berbers in Morocco have distilled rose byproducts since at least the first century BC, embedding the flower deeply in regional tradition. The Valley of Roses, centered around Kelâat M'Gouna at the Atlas Mountain foothills, became a global fragrance hub over the past two decades as international cosmetic brands sought its unique Rosa damascena. The valley now hosts 67 local manufacturers producing rose water, essential oil, and powder for global markets. Every May, the Festival of Roses celebrates the harvest with parades, music, and the crowning of the Rose Queen.
