The Story
Why it exists.
Ibiza Woman was born from Agua de Baleares’ mission to bottle the spirit of each Balearic island. When the founders Urs Leuenberger and Romana Durisch set out to translate Ibiza’s vibrant nightlife and sun‑drenched cliffs into scent, they briefed an independent perfumer to capture the island’s fresh citrus air, wild berries and fragrant white flowers, using locally sourced Spanish lemons and Mediterranean botanicals.

The Beginning
Ibiza Woman was born from Agua de Baleares’ mission to bottle the spirit of each Balearic island. When the founders Urs Leuenberger and Romana Durisch set out to translate Ibiza’s vibrant nightlife and sun‑drenched cliffs into scent, they briefed an independent perfumer to capture the island’s fresh citrus air, wild berries and fragrant white flowers, using locally sourced Spanish lemons and Mediterranean botanicals.
The choice of neroli and lemon mirrors the island’s breezy groves, while raspberry injects the playful energy of Ibiza’s beach parties. Jasmine and gardenia echo the island’s blooming gardens, and the grounding patchouli with white honey and amber reflects the warm stone of historic old town alleys at dusk, creating a layered portrait that feels both lively and intimate.
The Evolution
The first spray erupts with a bright citrus spark; lemon slices cleanly through airy neroli, while raspberry adds a juicy, slightly tart fizz that feels like sunrise over turquoise water, instantly lifting the mood. Around ten minutes in, the heart blooms; jasmine’s silkiness intertwines with gardenia’s creamy petals, turning the scent into a sun‑lit courtyard of white flowers, soft yet unmistakably Mediterranean. After the half‑hour mark, patchouli grounds the composition with earthy depth, white honey softens it with golden sweetness, and amber seals the dry‑down, leaving a warm, sun‑warmed stone aura that clings gently to skin for the remainder of the day, fading gently after six hours.
Cultural Impact
Wearers often liken Ibiza Woman to a breezy beach brunch, noting its fresh citrus‑berry opening and honeyed woods as a signature Mediterranean vibe. It has become a quiet favorite among island‑themed collections, frequently mentioned alongside Sea Salt and Mallorca Woman as the go‑to scent for sunny afternoons, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for place‑centric fragrances.
The House
Spain
Agua de Baleares translates the sea‑kissed light of the Balearic archipelago into a line of fragrances that echo the islands’ wind, stone and citrus. Based in a historic shop tucked into Palma’s medieval quarter, the brand offers both men’s and women’s scents named after individual islands, each meant to evoke a specific place and moment on the Mediterranean coast.
